Community Connect

Project: Integration Through Language Learning

At Community Revive, we recognise the vital role language plays in social and economic integration. Our one-year ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) program is designed specifically for adults with low literacy levels, including those who have had minimal or no formal education in their first language.

Many learners face unique challenges in acquiring literacy skills in English due to a lack of literacy in their native language. This program focuses on building foundational literacy skills, boosting confidence, and enabling participants to navigate daily life, employment, and community engagement more effectively.

By providing structured language support, we aim to break down barriers, empower individuals, and promote long-term integration within the Tyne and Wear community.

Project: Advice, Information, and Guidance (AIG) Service

At Community Revive, we are committed to supporting individuals in need by providing essential advice and guidance to help them navigate daily challenges. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, our Advice, Information, and Guidance (AIG) Service is designed to assist the community in key areas, including:

Housing – Support with accommodation issues and finding suitable housing.
Employment – Guidance on job searching, applications, and career development.
Benefit Advice – Assistance in understanding and accessing welfare benefits.
Volunteering – Opportunities to gain experience and contribute to the community.
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) – Language support to improve communication and integration.

Our AIG service is available every Tuesday morning at Cruddas Park Shopping Centre—no appointment needed. Just drop in, and our team will be ready to help.

At Community Revive, we believe in empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to build a better future. Join us and take the next step toward a stronger, more independent life.

Project: Employment Support Program

In response to the challenges of the pandemic, Community Revive has launched a new Employment Support Program, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. This initiative is designed to assist members of the BAME and refugee community, particularly those affected by job losses in the hospitality and leisure sectors.

Our support includes:
CV construction and updates
Job search and applications
Interview preparation & induction training
Universal Credit advice
Signposting to training institutions & support services
Volunteering opportunities for skill-building

With the help of experienced sessional workers from the community, we provide culturally sensitive guidance to overcome employment barriers. The six-month program aims to help individuals rebuild their careers and regain financial stability.

If you’re unemployed and living in Tyne and Wear, we’re here to help.
